I am NOT an Artist...
That's the story I would tell myself.
I loved creating, but I was NOT an artist because my art didn't look like it was "supposed to"
Tommy's art did. He was a natural.
I... was not.
I thought this for most of my life, despite the fact that I was collaging watercolors and magazine at 9, quilting at 10, shooting with a film camera at 11, woodworking at 12, spending all extra class periods in the darkroom in high school, spending hours at the studio instead of the bars in college. Still, I was NOT an Artist.
There were so many ways that I didn't fit the mold of being an Artist.
So many times I felt like an imposter doing the one thing I love more than anything, creating.
This is my story.
This is my journey of stepping into the BEing of Creation.
Stepping into the BEing of an Artist.
I'm Cat, and I AM an Artist,
are you?
I want to hear your creativity story
What's something you wanted to BE so badly, but didn't fit the mold for?
